Down on the Lakadaisies Farm Blog # 51
I held off on posting this blog for a while. We were scheduled to be vendors at two shows in California. Dolores has been complaining about her back for about two weeks. It has bothered her, off and on, for a long time. Sometimes, a whole lot more so than others. Well, to make a long story short, we are not going to California. She has been laying up a lot. She sometimes gets a
little carried away. I was mowing the other day and she grabbed the mower and took off. I nearly had to carry her to bed. We really had our hearts set on the California shows. They are both put on by the Mancusco Brothers and they do a fantastic job. We hope that everyone has a wonderful time without us.
Dolores continues to work on new designs. I have pictures of a couple that I will post shortly. She overdoes it sometimes, I think, but I can’t stop her. Hopefully she will be ready for Houston.
I have got to run-

Hello from the Lakadaisies Farm.
We are just fixing to “hit the road”. Dolores wanted me to share these pictures of the new edition of Quilt Mania’s “Simply Vintage” magazine. Two of her designs are featured in this issue. Here is a picture of the cover.
And here is a picture of a quilt that Dolores designed and stitched.

Hello and greetings from the Lakadaisies Farm.
We are back on the farm now. We had a wonderful time on our trip up North. Thanks to all of you who supported us at the Quilt Shows in Minnesota and Little Rock. We caught up with so many old
friends and made a whole lot of new ones.
We have made some changes to our schedule. We decided not to go to the show in San Diego. We hope that it is a good show for all. Instead, we have signed on to have a booth at two other shows in
California. Again, we are going to join the Mancusco Bros. For their Quiltfest Oasis Palm Springs. Show dates are October 8 - 10, 2015. It will be held at the Palm Springs Convention Center in
Palm Springs, California. We understand that this will be the second year for this event and we will do our best to help make it a wonderful show. From there we travel with the Mancusco Caravan to
Santa Clara for the Pacific International Quilt Festival XXIV. Show dates are October 15-18, 2015, and all the fun will be inside the Santa Clara Convention Center building. This one has a few years
experience, and we have heard a lot of good about it. It will be our first show in the “Bay Area”.
San Francisco here we come.
Also, Dolores is going to teach a class or two with our good friend Hannah (Hannah’ Quilts in Chourdrant, Louisiana) at her store. The tentative dates are September 5, 6, and 7. For more details,
email us at lakadaisies@hotmail.com or Hannah via email at hannah@hannahsquilts.com or phone 318 251 0314.
Dolores is always working on new designs and here is a picture of one of her latest.
Right now we are preparing to head to New England. .I have already told you about these shows but I will go over them again. First we will be at Hershey Pennsylvania for The Quilt Odyssey. The show
dates for it are July 23, 24, 25, & 26. From there it is on to Cape Cod for the Bayberry Quilter’s of Cape Cod Quilt Show. Show dates are July 30, 31, and Aug. 1. Next on our tour is The World Quilt
Show New England XII. in Manchester New Hampshire and the dates are Aug. 13, 14, & 15.
We always go to The International Quilt Festival in Houston. It is always a great show. Show dates are Oct. 29, 30, 31, and Nov. 1 with a pre-view on Wed. night the 28th. Always a lot of fun.
We would love to meet, or visit with you at any of these shows.
I hope that you will join me as I continue to “enjoy life”

Hello and greetings from the Lakadaisies Farm.
Well, we have a new sheriff in town. John Storm here. No major changes, so lets go. I hope that you enjoy my version.
First, I was just getting ready to post this when the flooding, and tornadoes started happening in Texas. I had to stop and make an addition. Our hearts go out to all who have lost so much-not just flooding and not just here in Texas, but all over the world. We especially feel for our friends at Wimberly, Texas. The last time we were there, Dolores gave a presentation to the Quilt Guild there. I felt that we made a whole lot of friends. It was a beautiful small town with such a nice feel. The
pictures we have been seeing are heartbreaking. Obviously, Mother Nature has her own way. I know that those that lost somebody are devastated. But, thank goodness that the loss of life has been small, compared to what it could have been. Also, hats off to not just the first responders, but all of those who are helping out with search and rescue/cleanup/food prep/delivery/donations, and whatever else needs to be done. I was watching the news on TV and earlier and I was especially impressed with all of the students who were out there cleaning up and “getting their hands dirty”.
Dolores is busy working on new designs. Her stint as a juror lasted about 2½ hours. I guess that the accused did not like the looks of the jury so he decided to put his life in the judge’s hands. Anyway, she has several new designs and here is a picture of one.
She actually needed a font for Happy Easter so I created this one. She liked it and now I am a font designer.
Our friend Hannah (Hannah’ Quilts-Chourdrant Louisana) came by on her way home from a Quilt Show and spent a couple of days with us. We had so much fun...we decided to just take a couple of days off. I even took two of my favorite girls to a chick flick. It was pretty good and I enjoyed it.
I have added a show, so here is our updated schedule. I am proud to announce that we will have the opportunity to join the fine folks at Hershey Pennsylvania for The Quilt Odyssey. Everyone says that it is a great show and we can hardly wait. The show dates for it are July 23, 24, 25, & 26. The show will be at the Hershey Lodge which is on Chocolate Avenue. Dolores got so excited.
And now, the rest of the story. First, we go north for The annual Minnesota Quilters' Show and Conference in Duluth. Our booth numbers are A17, 18 and the show dates are June 11, 12 & 13th. After that it is the NQA (National Quilt Association) Show in Little Rock Arkansas. Our booth numbers are 99 & 100, and the show dates are June 18, 19, and 20. Then we go to Hershey, and from there to Cape Cod for the Bayberry Quilter’s of Cape Cod Quilt Show. Show dates are July 30, 31,
and Aug. 1. Next on our tour is The World Quilt Show New England XII. in Manchester New Hampshire and the dates are Aug. 13, 14, & 15. I am still talkng to another Quilt Show or two but we always will be at Houston. The International Quilt Festival is always a great show. Show dates are Oct. 29, 30, 31, and Nov. 1 with a pre-view o Wed. night the 28th. Always a lot of fun.

Down on the Lakadaisies Farm Blog # 47
Hello and Greetings from the Lakadaisies Farm. I realize that I cannot stop what I am doing to do a blog when I should, so I am going to hand off the ball to John. He is making me do this one, so he can do the next.
So much has happened on the Lakadaisies Farm. The most important, to me, was that my sweet beautiful angel, Quinnie, got bone cancer and we lost him. For those of you that don’t know, He was a beautiful 185 pound St. Bernard. He was my baby and I have been moping around the house for a while. It is not my goal to bring you down or anything like that. But, he will always have a special place in my heart and I sure do miss him.
We had a wonderful time at the Sewing and Stitchery Expo at Puyallup, Washington, and The A Mountain Quiltfest in Pigeon Forge Tennessee. I taught some classes at Pigeon Forge and we had a blast. I really enjoy sharing my knowledge and hope to do more classes and “Retreats” in the future. I hope that all of my students learned something and had fun too. I have been thinking about having one in Fredricksburg, Texas this Summer. Stay tuned.
Now, John has completed our schedule for at least the first part of 2015. We are cleaning up around the house and working on new designs for a few weeks. I had hoped to go to Quilt Market in May, but after several talks with our local County Clerk’s Office, it appears that it is either Jury Duty or Jail. I hate having to make tough decisions like that, so, Jury Duty it is, on my birthday. What a wonderful present. In June, we go North for The annual Minnesota Quilters' Show and Conference. This year it will be held in Duluth and the show dates are June 11, 12 & 13th. This will be the second
time that we have been to Duluth. They put on a really great show and we really liked it there. Then we turn around and head South for the NQA (National Quilt Association) Show. This year it will be held in Little Rock, Arkansas. They also do a great job and the show dates are June 18, 19, and 20.In July we are going to Cape Cod for the Bayberry Quilter’s of Cape Cod Quilt Show. Then it is Out West for the San Diego Quilt Show. Show dates are Sept. 10, 11, & 12. John is still thinking about another Quilt Show or two and there is always the International Quilt Festival in Houston to look forward to.
Again, I would like to thank Carol and the crew at Quiltmania. They put my design “The Curious Little Chicken” in the Spring 2015 issue of Simply Vintage. Here is a picture of it.

Just remember to, as always, enjoy life ds.

Hello Everyone and Greetings from the Farm
It is amazing to me how quickly we have become so dependent on the internet. It seems like it was yesterday when we first heard about it. Now it is so everything. Ours went out about a month ago and it was horrible. Anyway, enough of that, I apologize for not blogging sooner-but...
My Thanksgiving was wonderful and I hope that everyone else had an equally nice day. I am so thankful that we have plenty. I wish that the whole world had enough. Don’t get me started. I wish that hunger was eliminated and while I am at it...Peace on Earth....There I said it. Also, I hope that you had a Merry Christmas and are enjoying a Happy New Year.
First, I would like to invite you to join Hannah and I for a weekend of fun and classes in Temple, Texas. Valentines Day Weekend-$300 (housing, classes & meals included) Feb. 13, 14, & 15th. 2015. Join us if you can.
We just got back from South Florida. I just feel like that I am home when I cross the state line and it was so nice and warm. Highs in the 80s mostly. It was a wonderful show-again thanks all. And then Hannah and I and a few friends had a wonderful fews days on the Emerald Coast.
Got to relax and just take it easy.
Actually, right now, I am headed for Jefferson Texas for the 12th Annual Jefferson Quilt Show “Quilts on the Bayou. Show dates are January 23-25, 2015. Also, we are hoping to “show off our stuff”(be vendors) at the The Sewing & Stitchery Expo in Puyallup, Washington. Show dates are
February 26 - March 1, 2015. After that we go to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee where we have a booth and teach a class or two at the A Mountain Quiltfest. Show dates are March 18-21, 2015. More show dates to be announced soon. Contact us for details.
Again, I would like to thank Carol and the crew at Quiltmania. They put my design “Snowman” on the back cover of their Special Winter 2014 issue of Quiltmania. They do such a good job. It felt so different to see it on the magazine instead of in my booth. I did it several years ago and it is such a big hit at every show we do. Here is a picture
They also put my design “Vintage Christmas” in the Winter 2014 issue of Simply Vintage. Here is a picture of it.
Carol also picked out four new ones for upcoming editions. I am so happy that they like my work enough to feature it in their magazines. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them and you for all of the support.
As always Enjoy Life
Thanks again Dolores Storm
